Greetings!

Our 22 DC travelers departed yesterday morning and are in midst of taking in the sights and preparing to participate in Monday’s Model UN Conference.

BEHIND THE SCENES:

We were delighted to welcome 8 newly-hatched chicks to the Camelot Family on Wednesday. Our MAPP students have played host to many visitors stopping by to watch this chipper bunch learn to eat and drink and huddle for warmth.

Host Family needed for 2024-25

We have a male high school student in need of a local host family next school year. If you have a private bedroom with a desk, can provide 3 meals a day (and snacks), transport to/from school and a loving environment please contact Jill@camelotacademy.org. A monthly stipend will be provided.

ANNOUNCE:

There will be no after school study hall this Friday due to preparation for Evening of the Arts.  Students of all ages in attendance after the class day will be on the yard.

Message from NHS:

This week NHS organized a trip for the Middle Graders, along with the help of Keep Durham Beautiful, to collect trash around Durham. They collected tons of trash and made their community more beautiful than it was before, all the while enjoying the trip. NHS will continue to come up with new and exciting things for the Camelot community and we hope that they are thoroughly enjoyed by all who participate.

Wellness Update:

We had one COVID positive community member but far fewer absentees/illness overall.

I look forward to seeing you Friday at Evening of the Arts!

Best,

Thelma
