Greetings!

 

We had a productive week, including lots of prep for the Academic Fair but also including teacher planning for many events and activities to come later in the year.  Thanks for your support of our early dismissal last Friday - it afforded us valuable time for this work.

 

BEHIND THE SCENES:

The challenges of meeting deadlines and public speaking are giving way to excitement and accomplishment among our young people - and their teachers!  We look forward to sharing it all with you on Friday.

 

REMIND:

Academic Fair is this Friday, November 22, at the Marriott Convention Center in downtown Durham (201 Foster St). 

 

Upper School Students need to arrive at 8am sharp and should plan to stay the whole morning, until about noon.

 

All parents are invited to attend the whole morning (8am-12pm) if you desire, but definitely plan to celebrate our students’ hard work for about 1.5-2 hours, overlapping with your individual child’s participation in the program.

Middle Grades students and parents should arrive at 9:30am.

 

MAPP students and parents should arrive at 10:15. 

 

A program of events for the morning, including project topics for planning your visit, will be emailed early this week, as well as distributed at the event.

 

 

ANNOUNCE:

Cold weather protocols:

-         Before School - moves indoors when conditions warrant.  Please watch to see your student enter the building before pulling out of the driveway.

-         After School - including study hall - also moves indoors when conditions warrant. We have someone on duty with a walkie at peak pick-up times to announce your arrival to students.  If needed, please feel free to come inside for pick up.

-         School picture proofs will be sent home on Tuesday, along with ordering instructions.
