Weekly Update for 10/27/2024
Sunday, October 27, 2024
Greetings!
Congrats to junior Ty Heilmann who will have a featured column in the November publication of the
Triangle Mycological Society (TMS). Ty was also a guest teacher in our KinderMAPP class a week ago to address their wonder about mushrooms and fungi in general. Ty is a participant in our Wonder-X Independent Study program which provides an opportunity to delve into these interests under the mentorship of science teacher Lori.
BEHIND THE SCENES:

ANNOUNCE:
For those celebrating Halloween on Thursday, costumes at school are welcome within these guidelines
No ghosts, witches, gore, weapons or masks.
Also, please save candy treats to be enjoyed at home!
Mid -Semester is an UNOFFICIAL reporting period to keep us all “in step.” On Friday you will receive class updates via Achieve and, where applicable, grades as they stand at this time. Please note, the purpose of sharing these reports is to continue to align our efforts so that by the January end-of-semester student records will reflect best work.
NHS Announcement:
Hello everyone! Just a reminder that the NHS is holding a bake sale to raise money for Western NC for Hurricane Helene relief. We are holding three bake sales: one during lunch at 12:00-1:00, and during dismissal at 3:00-4:00 on October 30th, and the other after school on November 1st during the Fall Social. Please consider buying something to support the thousands of people struggling in Western NC.
Our Camelot Farm Stand will have its first sale of the school year at the Fall Social. Honey from our own apiary and multi-colored dozens of fresh eggs will be available.
Have a great week and I hope to see you at the Fall Social on Friday after school.
Best,
Thelma
