Weekly Update for 10/20/2024
Sunday, October 20, 2024
Greetings!
Kudos to our Soccer Knights who wrapped up their season with two games this week. Although the scores were not in our favor, Coach Scott is very pleased with the team’s growth and performance. Thanks to him and to Logan and Bruce for their contributions to making this season a success.
Thanks to Raleigh for displaying the lovely MAPP and Middle Grades artwork on the (student-made) fence in the parking lot. What a festive touch!
BEHIND THE SCENES:
Speaking of our art teacher, Raleigh Gardiner, she has been awarded a Traveling Scholarship from the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. We are thrilled for Raleigh and look forward to hearing what her summer excursions will bring.
Theater teacher Katie Rebich recently returned from a week-long professional development workshop. The Giovanni Fusetti program called Teaching Red Nose Clown was held in Boulder, CO.
We are proud of and thankful for all of our amazing teachers and delighted to share milestones in their work.
REMIND:
Last day for club sign-up is Monday at 9 AM.
Any clubs with insufficient enrollment will be canceled, families notified and payments refunded.

Message from the National Honor Society:
Hello! Please join the NHS in raising money for Western NC for Hurricane Helene relief. There are two ways to help us raise money. We are holding three bake sales: one during lunch at 12:00-1:00, and during dismissal at 3:00-4:00 on October 30th, and the other after school on November 1st during the Fall Social. We will have all sorts of baked goods, including cookies, brownies, etc. We are partnering with Club Cookie, a small business started by one of our very own, Vedant Nambiar; they will be donating cookies for the drive. Please also consider donating money to some of the organizations below:
American Red Cross
Asheville Humane Society
Day One Relief
North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund
